Hair Care Tips for Dry Hair


When you feel that your hair is brittle and gets difficult to style then it means that your hair is rough and needs nourishment and care.  Due to sun exposure, heat styling, humidity, smoke and dust your hair gets damaged, dry and rough. Therefore there are some tips and tricks that will help your hair become healthy.

Trim often

If you have dry hair then you will need a fresh cut to give your hair a new look and feel. Dry and coarse hair is difficult to style. Visit your stylist and trim unhealthy and damaged hair for a fresher growth.

Take vitamins

Our body requires different vitamins for nourishment. Similarly, our nails and hair also require vitamins for growth and good health. Vitamin A and C and mineral iron contribute to healthier looking hair.

Omega 3S and Antioxidants

Proteins keep the hair from thinning out and make your hair look shinier. You can get the same result by adding such marine protein in your diet including tuna, salmon and sardines. They are rick in omega 3 and make your hair shiny and healthy.  Moreover, you can also make your hair look healthy by using rich antioxidants foods such as kidney beans, broccoli, tomatoes, walnuts and blueberries. According to the study, canola oil is also very good for better hair health.

Don’t shampoo daily

Avoid using shampoo on your hair daily as it makes your hair dry too. The shampoo does remove the sweat, oil and dirt from your hair but also removes sebum which is a natural oil in your hair.  Shampooing daily can strip off sebum from your hair but if you cannot go on and about without shampooing then use dry shampoo or baby shampoo. 

Wrap dry instead of heating

To dry your hair, wrap them with a cloth or towel instead of heating them with a blow dryer or straightener. If you sleep with wet hair make sure that you use a silk pillow as it will keep the hair moisture from getting absorbed in the pillows. Leaving wet hair for a long time can cause damage as well.

Reduce heat styling

Use a minimum amount of heating equipment to style your hair and don’t make them a part of your daily beauty regimen. This is one of the major reasons for hair drying out. 

Cold showers

Hot water makes your hair dry and it is suggested that you use cold shower or cold water to wash your hair. Coldwater makes your hair grow faster and revitalizes and refreshes the scalp as well.

Essential Oils

Argon oil is best for dry hair. You must use argan oil at the tip of your hair to give your hair a finished look. Moreover, other essential oil such as lavender oil, peppermint oil and coconut oil are also ideal to prevent hair loss and breakage.
